1UP pump signed up 2 rosters to get our new recruits get their feet wet on one of the most competitive tournament in the Socal scene. 1st roster named as "1UP" and the 2nd roster named as "1UP G2",
1st Roster Lineup: Andrew Yorke, Brian Morris, Jimmy Grise, Sebastian Krehbiel, Jeffrey Quimpe
2nd Roster Lineup: Humberto Moya, Jasmine Gonzales, Justin Weller, Nicholas DiNardo, Dominic Vargas-Toledo
Field Layout: NXL Las Vegas Open 2020
1st Match: 1UP vs SQD Black
---> We lost our first point against SQD Black but we came back strong taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th points wins.
2nd Match: 1UP vs Aztecas Savages
---> It was a tough battle for each point but we won all 3 points.
3rd Match: 1UP vs Reverent Mercs
---> This match was a hard battle, we took the 1st point of the game getting 2 guys off break.
---> 2nd point was a lot harder point, their snake guy did a run on snake getting Brian and Andrew out, having Jeff to fill and take out the snake runner but Jeff was also got taken out by their snake fill.
---> We had a bad start on the 3rd point having Brian miss the break which we played the point with 4 guys. Off break Sebas got the snake runner and another guy on the dorito side then Jeff did a run through on their guy in the dorito side brick leaving the match 3 vs 2. We still ended up winning the point with Reverent Mercs conceding but we lost the match with Reverent Mercs winning both 4th and 5th point of the match marking our first and only match loss on the prelims.
4th Match: 1UP vs Wolf Pack
--> Our last match of the prelims didn't come easy, we still needed to work hard on winning the match. Wolf pack did send a lot of paint on us but we remained calm and collective and win each point strategically.
Semi Finals: 1UP vs LA Aztecas
---> Our semi finals game was a next level match having to run a NXL type matches. We had to change our game plan and positions every game and all the game plan changes was effective sending us to the finals game against the Kamandag team.
Finals: 1UP vs Kamandag
---> We had a terrible start on the finals giving Kamandag two consecutive win. We had to claw our way back to the match winning the next 2 consecutive points of the finals leaving only a few seconds on the clock resulting to a sudden death tie breaker game.
It was a very chaotic final game ending up with a referee decision giving the win to Kamandag. See video below for the final game footage (Credit to the owner of the video).
In the end all of our guys had fun playing the tournament with our 2nd Roster wining 2 points against SQD green. It was a very competitive, productive and fun day of paintball for 1UP.
